Doggone Long Gloves

Doggone Long Gloves

Doggone Long Gloves
I am planning to make a 1930's capelet and knew I would need some long gloves to keep me warm as the cape part only comes to the elbows. So I smooshed a couple patterns together and came up with these. I started with the Merrywarmers pattern and then a touch of the Podster gloves. I am in love with the radiating rib down the forearms. I am not in love with the fingers on these. I continued the ribbing into the fingers and I think somewhere along the way I should have stopped. Now I know for next time! Cool things, I made the thumb and first finger of the right glove convertible. That means I can flip the tops of those fingers back and be able to use my iPhone! Or pick my nose! Whatever is needed! LOL
I started these February 13th, 2011 on 3mm needles in Kureyon Sock yarn. They were completed March 27, 2011.
