The Professional

The top is Vogue V7998 in white linen. I think this may be the third blouse I've made from this pattern. Love it and the fit and the simplicity of it. No facings! No plackets! I just keep adjusting the length of it to get a different look. This was an abandoned project down in the sewing room. I don't know why it was abandoned but now it is complete!

The skirt is something I whipped up on the morning of our company golf tourney when I realized I don't own a pair of shorts. I knew there was no way in hell I could whip up a pair of shorts but a skirt? Hell, yeah! After 90 minutes of tracing, cutting, sewing, pressing and handstitching I had a perfect sport skirt! Even better was the fabric I made it out of came from my scraps pile! Some fabric my sister had brought over an we made her a skirt from. Nice mid grey with a little stretch. Awesome! As you can see it's perfect for work too!

Summer Hasn't Shown Up So I'm Bringing It Myself

Summer Hasn't Shown Up So I'm Bringing It Myself

I wanted a bright dress to remind me of the summertime that is slow to arrive. The flash washed it out a bit. It's very bright, jewel toned colours.
This is Hot Patterns Hot Cha-Cha-Cha Halter Dress. A dress I have made before and had to wait for the wherewithal to deal with again. Hot Patterns are not for beginning sewers and even keep advanced sewers on their toes. They lack in their technical editing but make super cute patterns so sometimes I get suckered back in.
Made from a 100% cotton print, it was cut and sewn June 24th, 2012.

Jedi Pants

Jedi Pants

No buttons. No zippers. No elastic. Could there be an easier pants pattern? I don't think so! This is Simplicity 4192. Made from a nice khaki linen they are perfect for summer. Cool, breezy and flowing. I made these to pair up with my white linen shirt. They are soooo comfortable and still look classic. I wore the outfit to work today and one of my coworkers asked if I was going to the dojo after work. I told him I had Jedi practice and struck a light saber pose. Made with 100% linen, cut and sewn June 23rd, 2012.

I finished up this basic skirt earlier this year and I love it. I love to wear and work camo print into my everyday urban life and I think this one's a winner! Then again, maybe I better check with Clinton Kelly!
