I've been taken by the sewing bug a little bit again. I think if I organized my sewing room a little better I would find my time spent there much more enjoyable. I'll have to get on that...
There's a website called Sew Weekly that I frequent for inspiration. I am in awe of those women cranking out a new project a week! Let alone keeping it within the theme! I was thinking about it and wondering if I could sew weekly. I look back through my All Sewn Up albums and see that some years are more productive than others. I think this year could be a good one. I mean, I've sewn up a few things so far (and neglected to blog and/or photolog them) that have turned out well.
Like today, I was wearing 2 pieces I completed. TOGETHER! I didn't complete them together, I just happened to be wearing them at the same time. You knew that, didn't you?

The top is Vogue V7998 in white linen. I think this may be the third blouse I've made from this pattern. Love it and the fit and the simplicity of it. No facings! No plackets! I just keep adjusting the length of it to get a different look. This was an abandoned project down in the sewing room. I don't know why it was abandoned but now it is complete!
The skirt is something I whipped up on the morning of our company golf tourney when I realized I don't own a pair of shorts. I knew there was no way in hell I could whip up a pair of shorts but a skirt? Hell, yeah! After 90 minutes of tracing, cutting, sewing, pressing and handstitching I had a perfect sport skirt! Even better was the fabric I made it out of came from my scraps pile! Some fabric my sister had brought over an we made he a skirt from. Nice mid grey with a little stretch. Awesome! As you can see it's perfect for work too!
Finally, I found out what a best friend is.
A best friend is one who, after she buys some awesome boots you totally envy, goes on your local craigslist and finds you the same boots, used, for half price!

Thanks, Terri!
