Knit and the City

Today is the Big B's birthday! As a perfectly lovely co worker I stopped by the office today with presents and cake! Then I hightailed it out of there! Month end moving time is always a pleasure in the rental business!

I picked up some sneaks today. Whatever you do you must try a pair of Nike Free 5.0 runners on! I swear you will buy them the moment they hit your feet! It's like walking barefoot without having to worry about a rock hurting your foot. I'm amazed at the sensation of walking around in them and the awareness of all the muscles you use to walk. I was acutely aware today of my ankles and calves and how great these damn shoes feel on my feet! So great that I haven't taken them off yet! I bought another set of Nike Shox 2.45 for work but I wonder if they'll ever make it out of the box? Happy, happy feet!

I woke up this morning with Kyoto thoughts knocking about in my head. All I had to complete was the seaming of the collar. I got up and finished it! Then I took it below to the sewing studio for a steam, put it on and took it out! I really like it and it turned out really well. All that ripping back was worth it! I mean look!

Another remider to myself to purchase a damn tripod. The guy means well but doesn't quite get it. I asked him to take some pics of me outside in the sun with my sweater. He agreed and when I got in the back yard he was still on the steps. I asked him to come down and take the pics and he said that he'd just zoom in from the porch. I didn't want to go into the big explanation of why he should be 3 or 4 feet away and people want to see the quality or lack thereof of my knitting! So sorry for the crappy ass pics! Here's another one!! Granted he is closer but I'm outside and he's inside. I think that may have an effect on the final photo, dear. Grrrrrrr, god loves him and so do I!

I may have stopped by the yarn store to pick up some cotton yarn to make my crochet halter top a little more wearable.

I'm going to add a ribbed back panel, some wider straps (either I-cord or crochet) and then I guess I have to add some of the solid colour to the edges to tie it all together. Hm, very interesting.

Tonight I seam the collar! Woo Hoo! Oh, wait, the guy is off work tonight. Crap. There goes my evening. Ha!

A hands down winner if there ever is a Cute Cat Olympics. I think Crazy Aunt Purl's cat, Bob should take the silver medal.

You know I'm not all about swimming pools and movie stars. Today's my day off. Granted I did pop by work in case said movie star might be wandering around. I did about an hour or so of paperwork as it seems my boss doesn't think I work enough. I did spend a bit of time out in the backyard knitting.
A little too much time...

And I neglected my sunscreen. I thought I'd only be out about 15 minutes or so! It was so warm and toasty that I may have been there the better part of an hour. Could I have been daydreaming about aforementioned very cute actor?
Wear sunscreen! No matter what!

After I wisely ventured back inside to apply after sun aloe lotion. I finished the sleeves to my Kyoto!

The owner called me at home on my days off.

Him: Are you knitting?

Me: Uh...not at this moment...uh... I'm reading about knitting on the internet.

You know you have a hard ass habit when your BOSS calls to comment on your knitting! Well, he did want me to pop by my office but, whatever. After the notorious Knitting-gate scandal at work I didn't think we could ever say the word knitting again in a business environment. I'll still keep it on the QT though. That was a most unpleasant experience.
Meet me one day and I may tell you about it.

My Kyoto is so close to finished. If I could ever finish the sleeves! I decided to do both at the same time and I know I'll be happy I did but at this moment I loathe the descision! It's taking for-freaking-ever! Gah!

Taken by a special dad. For who the parental fears of the responsibilities a parent must face had pretty much worn away after having two other kids first.
Can you imagine a doctor father letting all those kiddies breathe on me?

It's interesting having 3 dogs in the house. The routine is a little shaken up and you have to look where you step at all times. Not just outside but inside as well. Seems like dog beds have taken over the house! The girls have two each and Cole came with 2 more! I did have hardwood floors but you'd be hard pressed to find them as they are covered in beds!
They do seem to be having fun.

I've been wanting a third dog and this will be a good test drive for us. So far I feel we'd have to get a smaller dog! Cole is HUGE! He's at least 4 or 5 inches taller than the girls and equal or more longer! That's alot of extra dog! But I love him sooooo much!
He's a little unsure of things.

Trust me, this is having fun. Not the dogfight it looks like! Thay move so fast you can't get a still picture!

Knitting nothing. Days off ahead. I'll press myself to finish Kyoto.

My mom's grey. He'll be staying with us while my parents move into their retirement home. They're retired and moving to a new house, is what I mean. I'm trying to come to grips that my parents are moving AWAY! FAR, FAR, AWAY! I won't get to see my mom and dad that often. Hmmmmm....if I dognap her dog she'll have to come back! Ha! Ha!

Thought I'd spend my Saturday like I do all my Saturdays off.  With the Saturday PBS and Knitting Marathon!  Not so.  I'm here. 

Even though you see knitting here, I haven't picked it up to do anything with it.  I'm trying to take care of the stack of paper under the knitting.  Fun, fun, fun.

Actually not as bad as I'm making it out to be.  Nice and quiet.  No phones ringing off the hook.  All in all a good day even if I have to work.  Hey, I woulda missed this if I wasn't here!

We got our new sign!  Woo Hoo!  All right, enough talk about work.  I've got to get back at it!

Another funny moment was when we all took out our knitting projects. We all pull out a small project. Or small piece of project. Mandy whips out an almost completed sweater! I deadpanned "This is Mandy, she likes to knit." I crack myself up!
